As many of you know, Margaret and I have been prayerfully considering where to serve in Africa. We’re thrilled to announce that we have decided to move to Kenya. Lord willing, we will move over to Nairobi at the beginning of 2021. Following a season of learning Swahili, I will teach at the Baptist seminary, and we will partner with the IMB team on the ground to help establish training sites around the country.
We are excited about this opportunity since I have a desire to teach in a more formal educational setting. In Kenya, I will be able to teach formally in addition to the informal training I’ve been doing with RTIM in my short-term trips. This past January, I was able to spend time with the missionaries already on the ground in Nairobi, and it was a joy to be around folks who are so dedicated to seeing pastors and churches strengthened in sound doctrine.

Margaret will continue to homeschool the kids, and she will have the opportunity to build relationships and disciple local believers. She has missed Africa, and she is ready to get back on the ground there.
For those who have prayed for clarity and wisdom, we thank you. Please continue to pray that the Lord would provide what is needed for us to transition to Kenya at the beginning of 2021.
In the coming weeks, I will post articles here to answer some questions you might have, such as “Why Kenya?” or “Why go with Reaching and Teaching?”. In addition, we will post other articles about moving and serving overseas. Therefore, feel free to subscribe to the blog.
We are starting the process to raise the needed support for us to move to Kenya. For instance, we will need more monthly supporters to help offset the cost of living in a big city like Nairobi, and we need folks to give one-time gifts that will cover our initial launch expenses, such as plane tickets, language study, a vehicle for ministry, and the expense of shipping some possessions from the US. If you are interested in making a tax-deductible gift, you can follow this link.
I’m excited for your family. I know your family will be in God’s hands.
